We have No fancy clothes,furniture,jewelery or fancy big Blue ribbons hanging on the walls.

However what we do have here is,A experienced,clean,down to earth,genuine dog loving group of people with a sharp eye for a good dog that believe in Phenotype!

We could sit here and type for hours how good Geneart dogs are but at the end of the day you can decide.

We think the dogs speak for them self.

At Geneart we once a day:

WATER  

 Change water completely,then refill.

Note: Nice clean water ever day is a very important thing to do for your dog. 

 FEEDS

Feed all natural dog foods.

The average Sharpei dog eats .

 2 scoops of 'low protien kibble' beef or chicken with rice.

Brands such as Woof Bix (we have been buying woofbix for over 7 years now and highly recommend for adult shar pei) also we buy Super coat light and we get the senior variety.

Always serve with water extras if required for weight variation.
If the dog leaves some food ,cut back the food amount bye quarter a scoop or so the next feed to maintain a healthy appetite.

If you like using can food or meat use food of 8% protein to the 16% protein Kibble.

You DO NOT have to buy the most expensive dog food to get good results.In-fact there is no point buying expensive dog food if it has a to high a protein level.

If the food is over 18% protein then don`t buy it!

Use dry food products with low protein levels of around 16 to 18%.

We also give plenty of cooked rice and vegetable,like carrots,spinach,broccoli,collie flower,olive oil,yogurt,vinegar,livermol,ect

If a dog needs to get heavier,give 12 hour feeds.That helps bulk up a thinner dog,once at a good weight cut back to one feed a day.

All dogs like left overs and should be given them but no small bones,for e.g. if you were giving left over chicken you would not give the bones,only the flesh

(you must remove all bones).

We use stainless steel bowls for all our dogs ,Never plastic! We always wash the bowls after each feed and never ever leave the food go stale and old.

All our baby puppies are weened and raised on Pal Pedigree & Super coat puppy dry food soaked with water from the kettle then left in the fridge until soft and cooled.

When the pup is 10 weeks we start to mix it with vegies and lower protein kibbles as mentioned above.

 COATS

For coat and ear care on top of a good diet,

We highly recommend all dogs and cats wear Advocate spot on.

 Also gently brush every day with a slicker brush in spring.

 

EARS

We also recommend you clean the ears of your Shar Pei regularly with a good dog cleaning agent purchased on line or at your vet.

(We use a generous amount of AristoPet Professional Groomer Ear Cleaner)

If the ears just have black stuff in them,that is natural,However if the ear gunk is pale in color or yellow please see a vet for the appropriate treatment.

  WALKING

We love walking our dogs and make a effort to walk them at least three times a week.

We use good quality collars and made in germany choker chains.

Never leave the chain on after walks,only use while attending the dog.

  We recommend,Plenty of exercise ,good food and fresh water,solid wood kennels 
and Acrylic mink blankets in cold climates.
